Florida Guitar Foundation's International Classical Guitar Competition

We are going virtual!

In this turbulent time, it was unfortunate to see the the competition postponed this past spring but the Florida Guitar Foundation is pushing ahead to hold our International Classical Guitar Competition with a new process and judges.

Youth Division

Under 18

Open to all classical guitarists of all nationalities younger than 18 years old as of September 2, 2020. Previous 1st prize winners are not eligible to participate.

Intermediate Division

Under 25

Open to all classical guitarists of all nationalities younger than 25 years old as of September 2, 2020.

Open Division

All Ages

Open to all classical guitarists of all ages and nationalities. Previous 1st prize winners are not eligible to participate.

Process

First Round:

The first-round application video submitted must be a newly recorded, unedited live performance uploaded to a streaming service. Applicants should submit their first-round application videos here. 

Applicants MUST introduce themselves at the start of the video and state that:

“My name is ______. This video is my submission for the 1st round of the 2020 Florida Guitar Foundation guitar competition.”

The introduction MUST BE part of the unedited video. Participants are not allowed to add an introduction to the video of the performance.

Video Title must follow this template:

2020 Florida Guitar Foundation Competition – Competitor’s name – Division 

Your video should have the following information in the video description:

This is my application video for the 1st round of the 2020 Florida Guitar Foundation Competition
Division
Competitor’s country of origin
Name of Repertoire performed:
Piece 1. [time stamp 00:00 – piece title – composer]
Piece 2. [time stamp 00:00 – piece title – composer]
Etc.

Semifinal and Final Rounds

Competitors advancing to the next rounds of the competition will be contacted directly and given specific instructions for their final submissions.

Your entry constitutes your consent to your videos, audio, recording, age, and personal names to any use, in any and all media by the Florida Guitar Foundation.
